About East Credit

East Credit is located near to the Mississauga City Centre and Square One, bordered by the 403 to the South, highway 401 to the North, the Credit River on the West and Mavis Road on the East. The community has excellent access to the 403, making it ideal for those working in Mississauga, Oakville or Milton.
The East Credit community was built during the 90’s and early 2000’s on what was once mainly farmland east of the town of Streetsville and south of the village of Meadowvale. The older parts nearer to the River, such as Credit Pointe, were developed earlier and are mainly large detached homes. The newer subdivisions are a planned mix of detached, semi-detached and townhomes on smaller lots. Development in the neighbourhood really took off following the closure of the Britannia landfill site in 2003 and the introduction of the Heartland shopping area. The area has ample local grocery stores and services.

Recreation in East Credit

East Credit was designed with greenspace and community parks in mind. The River Grove Community Center is a premier facility with recreational programing, outdoor sports fields and an indoor pool.

Shopping in East Credit

The nearby Heartland shopping area (at Mavis and Britannia) is known throughout the GTA for outlet and big box stores.  The BraeBen public golf course is located in the centre of the community on what was once the local landfill.  It was named BraeBen due to the unique hilly design that makes it feel similar to courses in Scotland. The course has spectacular views of Toronto and the area, but can be windy due to the elevation.
